Tiffannie Aiken - Tif for short
I strive to empower makers with the confidence to create something beautiful with their own two hands. Every design, pattern, and project is built with care, with a focus on quality over quantity. I'm comitted to developing a unique and recognizable artistic style while staying open to trends. I am always open and honest about my process - celebrating both successes and challenges.
Most of all, I embrace continuous learning and experimentation - exploring new techniques, materials, and ideas to evolve my craft (and yours).
Meet Tiffannie (Tif)
Hello there, I'm Tiffannie Aiken - Tif for short. Thank you so much for taking the time to get to know me. I live in the small town of McMinnville, Oregon, where I fill my days with drawing, painting, sewing, quilting and collecting every art medium I can get my hands on.
I've always been a maker. If I go more than a day or two without creating something, my hands literally start to "vibrate." For me, creating is a nessesary form of meditation that allows for a healthy escape from the world.
A Creative Family Tree
Art runs through my family. My father is a sculptor, my grandmother was a painter, my stepdad (who raised me) was a marine and a talented ornamental welder, and my step-grandmother was a seamstress who made the gowns for the Portland Rose Festival Princesses in the 1990's. She also drew, painted, wrote calligraphy, and taught me how to sew - starting with a pair of MC Hammer pants when they were all the rage.
She often gave me art supplies for birthdays and holidays, and one day she challenged me to paint an image of a pirate she herself had put off painting for over 20 years. I didn't know the first thing about oil painting, but I dove in. That challenge set me on the path I still walk today - one of curiosity, practice, and always saying "yes" to new experiences.
My Creative Journey
My first oil painting combined two images - a picture of my husband and a picture of myself - in a piece I jokingly called Zombie Love because I had no idea how to mix realistic skin tones. From there, I moved on to the pirate painting my grandmother had challenged me with, and then to designing tattoos, birthday cards, wedding accessories, and baby quilts for friends and family.

"Zombie Love"
For years, I poured my creativity into making things for others. But somewhere along the way, I realized I had been neglecting my own artistic voice. I became what I like to call a "Copycat artist" - able to draw anything in front of me but not developing a style of my own.

Now my focus is different. I'm committed to discovering and honoring my unique artistic style through fabric design, applique, and raw-edge collage projects. I've fallen in love with textile art - from small, layered fabric collages to full seamless repeating patterns that can be applied to any surface.
Where I am today
As a craft influencer and surface pattern designer, my goal is to support new and established textile artists, quilters, and crafters alike. More than anything, I want to create projects that are fun, expressive, and immersive - projects you can lose yourself in while making something that feels meaningful and personal.
